Stereology: an interdisctplinary science of spatial structures and images

In this review article, the definition and the scope of stereology have bene introudced first, then the suefulness of stereology has been demonstrated using examples. Whether in its narrow or its broad definition, stereology is essentially an interdisciplineary branch of science about 2D and 3D structures and images. Here the readers are also led to some important reference books and scientific journals to stereology and related fields.
