High anti-jam (AT) GPS equipment with Controlled Reception Pattern Antennas (CRPAs) and Digital Beam Forming (DBF) processing are being evaluated for Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS) architectures for the Joint Precision Approach and Landing System (JPALS). Previous studies have shown that antenna phase and group delay variations as a function of GPS signal arrival direction can inducernsignificant phase and code measurement errors. Because of the stringent JPALS accuracy and integrity requirements, a more comprehensive effort is underway to characterize, model, and compensate these errors. This paper summarizes results from detailed simulation studies based on multiple CRPA manifold measurement sets. The performance of various compensation techniques is presented and approaches for modeling of CRPA errors for JPALS availability assessments are developed.
