Cross-disciplinary Teams and the Role of the Technical Writer

Integrating the technical writer into the product development team enhances the ease of use of the product, the timing, depth, and impact of the documentation, and results in the entire package fitting together in a more coherent fashion. This paper explores how one team worked together on a project that included the documentation in the product definition. The paper covers each point with examples from the experience of being a technical writer on the team.
