Empirical study on correlation between China's aluminum consumption and economic development

摘要

An empirical analysis was made to explore the intrinsic relationship between china's aluminum consumption and national economic growth, based on the theory and method of econometrics, by means of software reviews and data on aluminum consumption and GDP output from 1990-2009. The results showed that co-integration relationship exists between aluminum consumption and GDP; there is unidirectional causality from aluminum consumption to GDP. It is advantageous to sustainable high speed development of national economy that bauxite resources are used rationally and effectively and to ensure that industrial mechanism of aluminum industry operates effectively.
