A Telematics System with PnP Management between MOST Network and Heterogeneous Networks

The automotive is a great industry in the world, and a new revolution of the third generation in the Automobile industry is Telematics which emphasizes the exchange of information for the traffic safety, health care and entertainment etc when vehicle moving. In the future, a Telematics system which integrates the service provider, wireless communication, the multimedia infotainment network, and portable devices will be mainstream of the market. In this thesis, we proposed a new multimedia sharing system with PnP in the MOST network and apply it to realize the Telematics services. The proposed system combined MOST network and heterogeneous networks, which is composed of threes parts: service manager, data link controller and protocol conversion. The system has integrated various interface (USB, Ethernet, 1394) and portable device (iPod, NB, DV, etc) to support multimedia sharing system with PnP in the MOST network. The driver and passenger could access MOST networks and all kind of Telematics service easily.
