State of the Art of IT Project Value Analysis

摘要

In this article several approaches developed by major consultancy companies are analysed to identify the underlying methods and how these methods are used to calculate the value of IT projects. In our analysis we have considered the following issues: cost and benefit analysis, risk analysis, the value of future options of IT investments and Strategic Factors. We provide a short description of the procedure in each approach. We then point out the valuation process and present the methods, which this valuation is based on.
