A Study of Characteristic and Application for RGB Thin Films of Micro-encapsulated Electrophoretic Display

摘要

An investigation is carried out into the properties and device application on the RGB thin films of micro-encapsulated electrophoretic display. The lightness, reflectivity, contrast and chromaticity of the RGB thin films are presented respectively, in which the green/white thin film shows that the lightness is 59.73 and the reflectivity 27.82 when is displaying in green color. Based on the thin film, a passive driving display device with addressable dot matrix pixel are studied. With the print circuit board technique for addressing electrode, the display devices with pixel size of 4 mm × 3 mm and resolution of 40 × 32 had been developed. With the micro-fabrication technique for addressing electrode, the display devices with pixel size of 2.0 mm ×1.5 mm and resolution of 20 × 16 had been developed. The display devices can perform the addressing display function well.
