Stimulation injections: The permeability of the rock mass between the wells is increased by injecting massive quantities of water at high pressure.-the objective is to raise the pore-pressure in the rock mass and hence promote shear failure (and dilation) of natural fractures and faults.-the injections generate microseismicity which provides a 3-D map of regions where pore pressure has been increased-this can be used to target drilling.
