To provide a dead chicken sensing system capable of detecting dead chickens with high accuracy.SOLUTION: A dead chicken sensing system 1 includes a camera 13 for photographing chickens in a cage, and a chicken life or death determination device 30 for determining the life or death of the chickens based on whether or not the dead chickens are contained in a monitoring image acquired from the camera 13. The chicken life or death determination device 30 constitutes a learning instrument where machine learning is performed previously by using the learning data containing a life image being the image obtained by photographing the chickens in the cage and not containing the dead chickens and a death image containing the dead chickens. The learning instrument is used in which the machine learning is performed by using the learning data containing the life image and the death image, and thereby the dead chickens can be detected with high accuracy.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
