PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quantitatively and routinely grasp a change in swallowing reserve in the form of image similarity without using machine learning by converting a biological signal of a subject during swallowing into an image, which is safe and convenient. To provide a swallowing function evaluation technique. A method for evaluating a swallowing function includes a biological signal detection step, a swallowing pattern image creating step, an image similarity calculation step, and an evaluation step. In the biological signal detection step, the biological signal related to the swallowing motion of the subject is detected. In the swallowing pattern image creation step, the analysis unit creates a swallowing pattern image from the biological signal.
