The present invention relates to liquid compositions as well as to the use of liquid compositions for differentially enhancing the growth of microbiome. The liquid composition forms a film of the invention when applied to the skin of a subject. The liquid composition as well as the membrane comprises chitosan or a salt thereof having a degree of acetylation of 20% or less and at least one additional agent. The invention further relates to a pharmaceutical composition for the treatment of colonization disintegration.
