PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insulation deterioration detection device for power cable capable of accurately detecting insulation deterioration of power cable.SOLUTION: An insulation deterioration detection device 1 for power cable includes: an AC power supply 2 electrically connected with a shield layer 10b of a power cable 10, also connected with the ground, and applying AC voltage to the shield layer under a hot line; a control unit 25 for changing an output frequency applied by the AC power supply in a frequency region deviated from integral multiple of a commercial frequency supplied to the power cable; a current measuring unit 4 for measuring current flowing to the ground from the power cable via the AC power supply; and a signal analysis unit 31 for conducting frequency analysis of the current measured by the current measuring unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
