An object of the present invention is to provide a new technique related to an electrochemical device capable of exhibiting excellent high-temperature storage properties for the electrochemical device while sufficiently ensuring the adhesiveness of the functional layer and the safety of the electrochemical device. The composite particle for an electrochemical device functional layer of the present invention includes a core particle containing a melamine compound, at least a part of the outer surface of the core particle, and a nitrile group, a carboxylic acid group, a hydroxyl group, a sulfonic acid group, and an aldehyde group and a shell polymer having at least one selected from the group consisting of amide groups.
