Polyphenylene sulfide-intercalated layered manganese oxide (PPS-MnO_2)nanocomposite is synthesized via the delamination/reassembling process. SEM images and XRD analysis indicate that the surface of the nanocomposite material is layered and the basal spacing of PPS-MnO_2 was 1.69 nm. The maximum specific capacitance as obtained from cyclic voltammetry was 524.0 F.g~(-1). The specific capacitance decreases by 6% of the initial value over 1000 cycles at a high current density of 2mA?cm~(-2).
