How to Maintain Image Quality at Reduced Cost, Size, and Power in Ultrasound Imaging

Disclosed herein is a computer-implemented medical ultrasound imaging method, and a system for performing the method, the method comprising: forming a first frame of an ultrasound image sequence having a high image quality; forming at least one frame of an ultrasound image sequence having degraded image quality; forming a second frame of the ultrasound image sequence having high image quality; and improving the quality of at least one frame of the ultrasound image sequence with degraded image quality by using the first frame and/or the second frame of the ultrasound image sequence with high image quality. In some cases, improvement of the quality of at least one frame of an ultrasound image sequence with degraded image quality is achieved by application of machine learning.
