The present invention concerns a procedure for determining the usage behaviour of at least one passenger (10) when using a public transport (11),showing the steps: Record at least one passenger (10) entering a control area (12) in the means of transport (11) and/or detecting an exit of at least one passenger (10) in the control area (12) using a presence detection unit (13),recognising a behaviour pattern of at least one passenger (10) in the surveillance area (12) using a behaviour pattern recognition unit (14),and establish an entry of at least one passenger (10) into the means of transport (11) and/or an exit of at least one passenger (10) from the means of transport (11) based on the behaviour pattern of at least one passenger (10) in the surveillance area (12) in use;a unit of observation (15).The invention also concerns an investigative device (21) and a computer program product (19) to perform the inventive procedure.In addition, the invention concerns a means of transport (11) with an inventive detection device (21).
