SILAGE FERMENTATION QUALITY EVALUATION METHOD AND DEVICE

This invention addresses the problem of enabling simple on-site and other evaluation of the fermentation quality of silage. In one embodiment of this invention, gas produced by silage is applied to a surface stress sensor, and the amount of one from among the organic acid and nitrogen-containing compounds included in the gas is determined. The surface stress sensor makes it possible to detect trace components in the gas using a simple device configuration and procedure. Thus, existing knowledge of the relationship between the content of these components and fermentation quality can be used to simply evaluate fermentation quality through the measurement described above.
