To provide a vibration suppression device of a governor rope capable of making a proper magnitude of the frictional force generated between a friction body and a base body.SOLUTION: A vibration suppression device of a governor rope comprises a base body connected to the governor rope, a movable body connected to a car and capable of moving with respect to the base body, a frictional body capable of moving together with the movable body and generating the frictional force between the base body and the frictional body, and conversion means to convert and hold the frictional force.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
