PURPOSE: A governor vibration reduction device of an elevator is provided to improve ride by minimizing vibration of a governor rope, to reduce the production cost and the installation cost by simplified structure, and to improve durability of the elevator. CONSTITUTION: In a governor vibration reduction device of an elevator, a tension pulley(40) is formed to the lower part of an elevator shaft corresponding to a governor of the elevator vertically movably via a support member(30) installed on a travel rail to make the lower side of a governor rope wound. A weight fixing member(60) to which a weight member(50) is fixed is combined to a central shaft of the tension pulley to keep tension of the governor rope uniform. The governor rope moves up and down without shaking. The governor vibration reduction device comprises a friction damper installed to a side of the support member, and a pulley guide member(80) inserted via a guide hole. The guide hole is formed in the friction damper. A contact surface is formed to the friction damper adjacently to the guide hole. The lower end of the pulley guide member is combined to the central shaft of the tension pulley. The pulley guide member is induced to come in contact with the contact surface of the friction damper when the tension pulley moves up and down.
