The invention relates to a process for renewing water in a filtration circuit for a swimming pool. The water renewal process involves the following steps: - measurement of the previous quantity of water renewed in the filtration circuit (2) of the swimming pool; and - measurement of a cleanliness parameter (C) of the water present in the filtration circuit (2); then- renewal of a quantity of water (VRj) in the filtration circuit (2), in proportion to the value of a product between, the previous quantity of renewed water (VRj-1) in the filtration circuit (2) and a corrective factor (Cj), the corrective factor being a ratio between the measured cleanliness parameter (C) and a reference value of the cleanliness parameter.
