Provided is a welding jig with which a battery can and an electrode can be welded to each other by means of laser light without deforming the battery can. This welding jig is characterized by including a plate-shaped support member (11), a rod-shaped support member (12), and a pressure adjustment mechanism (13), wherein the plate-shaped support member (11) has a through-hole through which laser light can pass, the rod-shaped support member (12) can be inserted into and removed from a hollow axial core part of a jelly-roll type electrode assembly (23), and is able to support at one end an electrode (21) and a battery can base part arranged at one end of the jelly-roll type electrode assembly (23), and the pressure adjustment mechanism (13) is able to adjust pressure applied between the plate-shaped support member (11) and the rod-shaped support member (12). The welding jig is used in welding a battery can (22) and the electrode (21) by means of the laser light.
