The invention relates to a device for covering a cut gap which can be produced by a machine tool. The device can be connected to a dust suctioning device so that the dust produced while working with the machine tool can be removed from the working area of the machine tool using the dust suctioning tool. A second aspect of the invention relates to a system consisting of at least two proposed devices. Another aspect of the invention relates to a method for suctioning dust from a working region of a machine tool. The device comprises sealing caps which can be connected to a dust suctioning device via suction connecting pieces. Furthermore, the sealing caps are used to seal the working area in which the working process of the machine tool is carried out.
