PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a masking material for partial plating that can realize good thickness distribution of a plated film within the partial plating spot, by preventing a yellowing due to the partial plating when the plural-row partial platings are consecutively carried out in the crosswise direction of a strip-shaped metallic material using a vertical-type partial plating apparatus.;SOLUTION: Good thickness distribution of a plated film within the partial plating spot can be obtained by the following means by which: at least the surrounding thickness of the lower end portion of an opening part for partial plating, which is formed in a lower row than the second row from the top, on the side on which plating solution is supplied is made thinner than the peripheral thickness of the opening part; a gradient is provided at the part; or a masking material having a shape combined with those shapes above is used for partial plating.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3;COPYRIGHT: (C)2019,JPO&INPIT
