The present invention proposes a method for managing the power dissipated by an electroluminescent light source comprising a plurality of electroluminescent rods having sub-millimeter dimensions protruding from the substrate and divided into a plurality of identical groups. By using the means of the present invention, it becomes possible to manage the dissipation of power from the light source when faced with an instantaneous change in the intensity of the current feeding the light source.
