Dynamic radial compliance in scroll compressors

In some examples, scroll compressors can include swivel scrolls and fixed scrolls with spiral involutes that mesh with each other. The slider block can be placed on the eccentric portion of the main shaft and the slider block can be attached to the compliant balance weight. The balance weight can be supported by a balance weight guide plate supported by the main shaft. The balance weight guide plate can also have an arm that secures the upper portion of the balance weight, thereby fixing the slider block. In some embodiments, the spring assembly may be provided between the outer edge of the balance weight and the balance weight guide plate. These components, in part, allow constant involute contact between the fixed and swivel scroll involutes at high speeds, thereby achieving high compression efficiency.
