The purpose of this disclosure is to provide an absorbent article that contains a wiping-property-improving composition that is not prone to transfer before the absorbent article is put on, that transfers easily to skin after the absorbent article is put on, and that has excellent properties with respect to wiping high-viscosity bodily fluids that have adhered to the skin. This absorbent article has the following configuration. The absorbent article includes a skin-contacting surface and is characterized by: comprising, on the skin-contacting surface, a wiping- property-improving composition that includes cellulose nanofibers and a wiping-property-improving agent for improving the property of wiping bodily fluids; and the wiping-property-improving agent having water-solubility of at least 100g (25°C) in 100g of deionized water and having IOB of 0.6–3.0.
