Problem to be solved: to provide a control of an optical scanner during vitreoretinal surgery and to display an output image from an optical scanner integrated into a viewing display of a surgical microscope.A scan controller that interfaces with an optical scanner combined with a surgical microscope may be used to perform control of the scan image during ophthalmological surgery.The scan control device may receive a user input including a hands-free user input that controls the overlay image of scan data superimposed on the optical image data seen using the surgical microscope.The selected position of the optical scan can also be viewed and controlled using a scan controller.Diagram
