Positioning drive with an open traction media drive, having a driving component, a driven component (3) and a traction band (4) of constant length, with a beginning firmly connected to the driving component and an end secured by a spring opposing the driving component (5), where the driven component (3) is connected to the drawbar strap (4) and there is a means influencing the path of the drawbar strap (4) which is associated with the drawbar strap (4),the propulsion component is an exhaust axis (1.1) of a first step engine (1) with a first step angle (a 1) or a first step length (s1) and is positioned between the propulsion component and the driven component (3) two fixed guide wheels (6) at a distance (a) to each other; between which the traction train (4) is driven in an x-direction and the traction train (4) between the guide wheels (6) associated with the means influencing the train path (4), this means a linear exhaust axis (2.1) of a second step engine (2) with a second step length (s2),which is adjustable vertically to the drawbar (4) in a y-direction to direct the drawbar (4) between the guide wheels (6) in a y-direction and to which a roll (7) is attached.
