To improve performance of a hydraulic machine by reducing disk friction losses generated in a back pressure chamber or side pressure chamber.SOLUTION: In a hydraulic machine, flow straightening parts 21, 22 for increasing a circumferential speed of flowing water that flows into an inlet part toward a rotation direction of a runner 4 are provided on at least any one of a wall surface of the runner 4 forming the inlet part 10 on a side of a back pressure chamber 8 and a wall surface of an upper cover 6 and/or at least any one of a wall surface of the runner 4 forming an inlet part 11 on a side of a back pressure chamber 9 and a wall surface of a lower cover 7.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
