FIELD: chemistry.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an uncharged lipid having structure 1, which can be used for the delivery of extended and short nucleic acids to mammalian cells. The invention also relates to a composition for the delivery of extended and short nucleic acids to mammalian cells and to a method for its production. The composition contains a polycationic amphiphilic molecule 1,26-bis(cholest-5en-3β-iloxycarbonylamino)-7,11,16,20-tetraazahexacosane for binding and packaging of nucleic acids, a neutral phospholipid 1,2-di-O-oleoyl phosphatidylethanolamine (DOPE) as a structure-forming and promoting component, and an uncharged lipid having structure 1.
