PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat conductive filler capable of exhibiting high heat conductivity while keeping the specific gravity small, a heat conductive composite material and a wire harness containing such a heat conductive filler, and such a heat conduction. Provided is a method for producing a thermally conductive filler capable of producing a sex filler. SOLUTION: The heat conductive filler is in the form of particles and has an organic part containing an organic polymer and an inorganic layer containing an inorganic substance that covers the surface of the organic part. Further, the heat conductive composite material contains the heat conductive filler and the matrix material, and the heat conductive filler is dispersed in the matrix material.
