The invention pertains to a method for determining a displacement of at least one reference point (5) of an object (1) during an event, an event being defined by the fact that the acceleration of the reference point (5) of the object (1) is zero for a predefined duration before and after the event, in which - a temporal profile of the accelerations in at least one predefined direction (G) are measured by at least one sensor (7) at the level of the reference point (5), characterized in that: - coefficients of the first and second parametrizable functions are determined, making it possible to reconstruct the temporal profile of the accelerations in the form of the convolution of a source and of a sum of products of first and second functions parametrizable by coefficients, each of the first and second parametrizable functions whose product possesses a double-integration analytical solution and the first functions being composed of damping factors, - the displacement of the reference point (5) in the predefined direction (G) over time is determined on the basis of the double-integration analytical solution of the convolution between the source and the sum of products of first and second parametrizable functions and of the determined coefficients of the first and second functions.
