A sentence generation device has: a content selection unit for acquiring, as a reference text, a predetermined number of two or more sentences having a relatively high relevance to an input sentence from among a group of sentences different from the input sentence; and a generation unit for generating a sentence on the basis of the input sentence and the reference text. The content selection unit and the generation unit are a neural network based on a learned parameter, with the result that information to be considered at a time when a sentence is generated can be added as a text.
