Hyoid bone raising mouthpiece and its manufacturing method

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To raise a user's hyoid bone without dislocating the lower jaw part anteriorly with respect to the upper jaw part as in a conventional intraoral device and therefore without imposing a burden on the user. To provide a mouthpiece for raising the hyoid bone, which can improve the symptoms of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome. SOLUTION: A mouthpiece 10 for raising the hyoid bone is worn so as to cover the dentition of the lower jaw of the user, and is configured to increase the vertical intermaxillary distance of the user by 2 mm or more and 4 mm or less. The hyoid bone raising mouthpiece 10 is formed by preparing a gypsum model of the dentition of the lower jaw of the user and bringing a flat resin sheet into close contact with the gypsum model while heating and pressurizing. The resin sheet constituting the hyoid bone raising mouthpiece 10 is composed of an inner layer 11 made of a hard synthetic resin and an outer layer 12 made of a soft synthetic resin outside the inner layer 11 that comes into contact with the dentition.
