The invention relates to a handpiece (1) for equine dentistry, comprising: - a handle (4) intended to be coupled to a motor via a flexible connector; - an extension rod (3) extending from the handle (4); - a head (2) supported by the extension rod (3), the head (2) bearing a tool (10) intended to be rotationally driven; - transmission means (5) for transmitting a rotational movement from the handle (4) as far as the head (2), the transmission means (5) being intended to drive the tool (10) in rotation, the transmission means (5) running through the handpiece (1); - a first mechanical coupling which couples the tool (10) to the head (2), and the tool (10) to the transmission means (5), the first mechanical coupling incorporating first watertight means (61) of sealing between the transmission means (5) and an environment external to the handpiece (1).
