PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-absorbing heat-retaining composite containing vanadium which adheres to a fiber by interaction with the fiber. A light-absorbing heat-retaining composite has fibers, vanadium adhering to the fibers, and a dye. The fiber is a natural fiber such as wool. The method for producing a light-absorbing heat-retaining composite includes a dipping step of immersing the fibers in a liquid containing vanadium ions and a dyeing step of dyeing the fibers with a dye.
