This catheter includes a long tubular body part, a light emitting part that is provided on an outer circumferential surface of the body part and that emits light outward in a predetermined direction, and an opening that is provided on the outer circumferential surface of the body part and is capable of discharging fluid, wherein the discharge direction of the fluid from the opening intersects the emission direction of the light from the light emitting part.
