Disclosed herein are methods and compositions for parallel or sequential transgene stacking in plants to produce plants with a selected phenotype. The present disclosure provides methods and compositions for precise transformation, gene targeting, targeted genome modification and protein expression in plants. In particular, the present disclosure provides novel, transgenic markers for integrating exogenous sequences and stacking traits that utilize a difference in selection at an endogenous locus in the plant genome (e.g., acetohydroxy acid synthase (AHAS) locus). -Describe the unused strategy.
