A core-shell type semiconductor nanoparticles comprising a core and a shell arranged on the surface of the core and emitting light when irradiated with light are provided. The core comprises a semiconductor containing M1, M2 and Z, M1 containing at least one selected from the group consisting of Ag, Cu and Au, and M2 selected from the group consisting of Al, Ga, In and Tl. Includes at least one, and Z comprises at least one selected from the group consisting of S, Se and Te. The shell contains Group 13 and Group 16 elements and contains a semiconductor having a bandgap energy larger than that of the core. A compound containing a Group 15 element is arranged on the surface of the shell, and the Group 15 element contains P having at least a negative oxidation number.
