Device for Counting and Regulating the Duration or Number of Working Operations More Especially those of Yarn or Thread Reels in Respect of the Number of Revolutions Required for Forming Hanks or Skeins.
3187. Nordmann, M. J. Feb. 17. Reeling-machines for regulating the number of turns of the yarn or thread reel suitable for a skein or hank according to the count. The apparatus acts to control the movements of a rod m under the pressure of a spring k so that it makes successive steps to the left and then remains stationary during a given number of movements of the machine. The number of movements between the steps are predetermined, but not necessarily equal. The rod m carries the threadguide eye n, and is attached to a block l sliding on a rod i and having a pawl p engaging with flanges on the discs g, g1, . . . . g. These discs can be clamped on a sleeve e between the plates f, f 1 by a nut g', after notches in their flanges have been adjusted so that the apparatus will work a given number of times before the notch comes in line with the pawl p ; this adjustment is facilitated by scales on the discs. While the apparatus is at work, the worm d and worm-wheel c rotate the sleeve e and the block l moves step by step to the left, as the notches in the flanges come in turn under the pawl p. Finally, the pawl strikes the spring rod q, and, forcing it back, disconnects the driving-motor.
