6696. Cartwright, W. March 30. Trees, supporting.-Relates to means for securing trees to supports or stakes with a yielding pressure. A metal ring formed in two parts c, d bolted together, is provided with one or with two square eyes a to be passed over a stake or stakes and secured thereto by a nail driven through a suitable hole. Semicircular rubber blocks f, to encircle the tree, are connected to the metal ring by coiled springs e. One end of each spring e is embedded in the rubber block, while the other end is secured to the metal ring by a screw p with head h.
