摘要
16,970. Zielke, B. Aug. 23. Fenders. - Relates to means for taking-up the slack of the stay-ropes of hinged buffers or fenders when swung in against the vessel's side. Figs. 1 and 2 show an arrangement of a pair of buffers or fenders stayed by a rope 2. One end of this rope passes over pulleys 4, 7 and a stretching-device 6 to a small drum 8, which is mounted to rotate with a larger drum 10. The other end of the rope 2 passes over pulleys 4, 7 and a stretching-device 12 to this larger drum. When the fenders are swung into the position shown in Fig. 1, the drums are rotated, by steam or otherwise, so that the rope is wound on to the larger one and the slack taken up. The stretching- devices 6, 12 serve as compensating- devices as the fenders are swung in and out.
