Heating of bearings, indicating.-Relates to a fusible device for opening or closing an electric circuit in case of a rise of temperature due to overheating of bearings &c. The device for closing a circuit is shown in Fig. 1. A capsule of fusible material E is interposed between two cupholders e. When the capsule is melted, the spring A makes contact between the stud 0 and the plate D, which form the terminals of a circuit containing a battery F and bell G. The device for opening a live circuit is shown in Fig. 2. When the capsule E is melted, the spring A breaks the circuit at H. This de-energizes the magnet J, thus allowing the armature M to spring back and close a secondary circuit containing the battery K and bell G.
