24,129. Bailey, F. P. Nov. 27. Straps and bands.-Relates to the treatment of eel-skins whereby they are rendered applicable to the manufacture of straps and bands and other purposes. The eel-skins are scraped, soaked in alum and salt for several days, and are then dried. They are then sandpapered on the inside, washed in warm soap and water, dried, and finally rubbed until soft.
