20,293. Bloxam, A. G., [Tellschow, Gebr.]. Sept. 21. Folding paper.- Relates to an adjustable folding- flap for use in machines for making envelopes, paper bags, cardboard boxes, and the like. Fig. 1 shows a plan and Fig. 3 a side view of the flap, which is pivoted in the usual manner at c on the framing e of the envelope &c. machine, and is actuated in any suitable manner. The flap comprises a base portion a slotted at i, f for guiding and fixing the adjustable pieces g, k forming the folding-face of the flap. The parts g move in a line parallel to the fold to be made, while the part k moves at right-angles to it, and is of triangular form so that it moves between and forces apart the pieces g. The part k is moved by a screw m1 rotating in a lug n on the base, and engaging a screwed lug m attached to the piece k. When the part k is in any position and the pieces g are adjusted to its inclined edges, a continuous folding line or face is formed by them.
