Warp beams.-A warp beam H, Fig. 1, is provided with friction clutches C, B, at its ends, the position of the clutches being varied on a keyway L in the shaft A, Figs. 1 and 9. A longitudinal slot in the clutch C and the warp beam H serves for placing the ends of the warp threads in, when wind. ing on. The end e of the link D is pushed forward by screwing the nut K, its other end d being thereby raised and with it the movable part C, and the grip blocks E, which may have leather coverings f, are forced against the warp beam. Two or more warp beams may be connected together by having friction or grip blocks with their outer surfaces lengthened.
