Reel holders and cases. -A box containing a roll of paper, fibre, or silk, cotton, woollen, &c. fabric, &c., is provided with means for preventing the accidental displacement of the spindle of the roll. Secured to each end of the box is a slotted frame c, Figs. 3 and 4, which is adapted to receive an end of the spindle and is so arranged that the locking- piece d may be slipped laterally into its locking position. Fig. 5 shows a modification, in which the slot c' is formed in the end of the box, the spindle being secured by a rectangular or wedge-shaped piece d which slides into a vertical correspondinglyshaped recess and is held in place by friction.
