Milling.- The knee-slide clamping-device of a milling-machine is arranged so that the clamp can be operated without the operator moving from his normal position. The device may comprise a taper gib A, which slides endways and is provided with teeth B which gear with a pinion C mounted at the end of an horizontal shaft D and operated at the front end by an adjustable handle F, a stop G being provided to prevent overturning. The operating-member may be a pedal or wheel. When clamping-bolts are used, they may be extended to be within reach of the operator.
