Purifiers.-In gas purifiers or like apparatus of the type described in Specification No. 1389, A.D. 1907. wherein a series of superposed trays, sieves, or the like are lowered at one side simultaneously when the discharge door is opened, the lowermost tray is supported independently of the door. For this' purpose the tray 4 carries a short strut 12, which is supported, when the door 11 is closed, by a projection 14 on the interior of the mouthpiece and is dislodged, when the door is opened, by means of a connecting chain 15 or system of levers. In a modification, the tray is in two parts which are hinged at either side, one part being supported in the horizontal position by a projection on the other part.
