Effect of Gas Friction on Sieve Tray Sprays

In order to assess the effect of aerodynamic drag of a gaseous atmosphere on the movement of liquid drops, available information was obtained from the literature. Methods of computing drop trajectories are reviewed and the general shapes of the trajectories discussed. Computer codes are described for computing drag coefficients and trajectory parameters and shapes for a wide range of fluid properties and drop sizes. (Atomindex citation 08:347356)
